Directions via Autobahn A66, junction Hanau-Nord

on the “Bruchköbeler Landstr.” towards city centre
turn left into the “Hanauer-Vorstadt” road, then left into “Eugen-Kaiser-Str.”

Parking facilities at the CPH:

Underground car park (below the CPH) with 62 parking spaces

Arriving by public transport

Hanau is easy to get to by train (ICE station) or S-Bahn. From the main railway station the local no. 2 bus runs straight to the Congress Park Hanau (bus stop: “Nordstraße”, near the Castle Gardens (Schlossgarten)). You can also take the number 3 and 10 buses to the CPH (changing at “Freiheitsplatz”, bus stop: “Schlossplatz” or “Nordstraße”). There are regular and all-night connections from the “Freiheitsplatz”, located approx. 300 metres away, to all districts of Hanau.

Speakers

Dr. Steffen Metzger, CEO | Heraeus Precious Metals

Steffen Metzger studied physics at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich as well as at Oxford University, completing his doctorate in mathematical physics at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. He then joined the management consultancy Oliver Wyman as a consultant and project manager, before moving to semiconductor manufacturer Infineon in 2011, where he held various management positions.
In 2022, he joined the Group Management Committee of the Heraeus Group, where he was responsible for the Semiconductor and Electronics platform. Two years later, he took over the role as CEO of Heraeus Precious Metals. In August 2025, he assumed the additional role as Member of the Board of Managing Directors of the Heraeus Group, overseeing the precious metals business.

Henrik Marx, Global Head of Trading | Heraeus Precious Metals

Henrik Marx is heading global precious metals trading at Heraeus with four sites in Germany, New York, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He has been working with Heraeus and in the precious metals industry for over 18 years. He went through various roles starting in Recycling through Sales and Business Development. From 2015 to 2018 he was heading the Heraeus business in Hong Kong as the General Manager, followed by two years in Switzerland at Argor-Heraeus being in charge for the investment products department as Director of Sales. Since June 2020 he is the CEO of Heraeus Metals Germany overlooking the global trading activities for Heraeus.

Henk de Hoop, CEO | SFA Oxford

Henk de Hoop is a mining engineer and Chartered Financial Analyst, and is Chief Executive Officer of SFA (Oxford) Ltd. SFA provides bespoke, independent intelligence and consultancy services on PGM markets and a variety of other strategic metal markets.

Henk has a proven track record as a top-ranked investment analyst, having analysed companies and commodities in detail in the gold, coal, base metals, diamond and PGM sectors as a stockbroking analyst for 12 years.

Henk spent the next 14 years as a resources sector investment banker, getting involved in equity and debt capital raisings and M&A advisory for a wide variety of mining companies across the commodity spectrum, and he has an authoritative understanding of commodity markets, valuations and relationships across the value chain.

Jens Trötzschel, Senior Business Development Director | Heraeus Medevio

Jens Troetzschel studied physics and materials science at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg. He joined the company in 1997 and since then has held various leadership positions in the areas of research and development, innovation, engineering, site and sales management.

Since joining the company, his focus has always been on the further development of products and services for the medical technology sector.

The focus has consistently been on mastering our customers' technological and commercial challenges through innovative solutions involving precious and special metals, ceramics, and plastics.

Since 2024, Jens Trötzschel has been working as Senior Business Development Director for Heraeus Medevio.

Dr. Martin Pontzen, Bundesbankdirector | Deutsche Bundesbank

Martin Pontzen studied in Frankfurt and Vienna, majoring in economics, business administration, politics and history. He wrote his Ph. D. degree at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main.

With a total of over 30 years in the field of Central Banking, he has also served as First Secretary in the Embassy of Germany, Moscow. Prior to joining this department, he was main branch Deputy Director and has held other positions in the Public Relations, and International Departments. Other foreign projects include short-term expert and leader of EU-Twinning Projects, TACIS, GIZ, and IMF.

In addition to having lectured at different universities and technical colleges both locally and internationally, he has authored as well as co-authored several articles and books. A recurring theme in his repertoire of literary works focuses on economic historical developments together with historic banking crises. He has been a part of the CGFS Working Group "Establishing viable capital markets" (BIS) in recent years.

Since 2005, Martin Pontzen is Bundesbankdirector.
