The IrOx electrocatalyst with ca. 79-83wt% Iridium (Actydon | Ir 80 XSP) is a IrO₂ catalyst with extremely high surface area and improved efficiency to enable low Iridium loading and high stability in the PEM water electrolyzer application.
The catalyst is mainly used to catalyse the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) at the anode side in proton exchange membrane water electrolysis, CO2-electrolysis and as additive for cell reversal tolerance (CRT) in PEM fuel cell anodes)
The XSP variant has reduced agglomerate size to optimize rheological properties of the catalyst inks as used in slot dye or ultrasonic spray coating.
