Speakers

Dr. Stefan Staubach, CEO | Heraeus Precious Metals

Stefan Staubach studied business administration at Ruhr University Bochum and completed his doctorate in business administration at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. He started his career in investment banking in Frankfurt and New York, followed by positions in private equity. He joined the Heraeus Group in 2016 and has been CFO of Heraeus Precious Metals since 2019, responsible for finance, precious metals controlling, processes, IT, purchasing and PMCE (Precious Metals Compliance Experts). Since June 2024, he has been CEO of Heraeus Precious Metals together with Dr. Steffen Metzger.

Dr. Steffen Metzger, CEO | Heraeus Precious Metals

Steffen Metzger studied physics and mathematics at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich as well as Oxford University and completed his doctorate in mathematical physics at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. He then joined the management consultancy Oliver Wyman as a consultant and project manager before moving to the semiconductor manufacturer Infineon in 2011, where he held various management positions. In 2022, he joined the Group Management Committee of the Heraeus Group, where he was responsible for the Semiconductor and Electronics platform. Since June 2024, he has been CEO of Heraeus Precious Metals together with Dr. Stefan Staubach.

Bart Melek, Managing Director & Global Head of Commodity Strategy | TD Security 

Bart has well over twenty years' experience analyzing global precious metals, base metals, energy, and financial markets, as well as North American and global economies. He has worked closely with commodity, equity and FX trading desks in Toronto, New York, Chicago, London and Singapore, and has several forecasting distinctions and top global rankings to his credit.  

Bart contributes to the TD Securities strategic view by providing commentary on commodity and various other financial markets and how they relate to the sectoral and macroeconomic outlook. Bart is also a sought after media source for many leading print publications and business television programs including Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, BNN, The Globe and Mail, The Financial Post, AFP, BBC, The Wall Street Journal and Barron's. His forecasts are also part of the global consensus. 
 
Previous to joining TD, Bart was a Global Commodity Strategist and Sr. Economist at another major global bank. He was also a Senior Economist and Senior Analyst in Treasury and Risk Management/Senior Credit Committee at another major North American financial institution. 
 
Bart holds a master's degree in economics from York University in Toronto, with a Specialization Certificate in International Finance/Banking.

Dr. Philipp Walter, Executive Vice President | Heraeus Precious Metals

Philipp is a chemist by education and received a PhD from the University of Freiburg, Germany. He held several management positions in the chemical industry in new business development, marketing, sales and business management in Norway, USA, Switzerland and Germany. He joint Heraeus in 2016 and is now leading the Business Line Hydrogen Systems for Heraeus Precious Metals. Philipp is based at the Heraeus’ Headquarters in Hanau, Germany.

Marta Rossini, Head of R&D Metallurgical Processes | Argor-Heraeus 

Marta Rossini is the Head of Development Metallurgical Processes at Argor-Heraeus, where she has been working for the past eight years, after a first experience on materials development in automotive field. Her expertise lies in developing metallurgical processes for transforming precious metals into high-end components for the luxury sector. She manages the Metallurgical Lab at Argor-Heraeus and with her team works on the improvement and development of alloy compositions for luxury products. Marta holds a degree in Materials and Nanotechnology Engineering, graduating with honors, and has pursued postgraduate courses in Product Management and Innovation, which has been foundational to her work in pushing the boundaries of development in her field.

Robert Halver, Head of Capital Market Analysis | Baader Bank AG

After completing his studies in 1990, Robert Halver initially worked as a stock analyst at Sparkasse Essen. He then joined the private bank Delbrück & Co, where he was responsible for analyzing the international capital markets as well as the automotive and telecommunications sectors. In addition, he defined the investment policy.

In 2001, Robert Halver transferred to the Swiss private bank Vontobel as a director. His responsibilities there included investment strategy and public relations.
Since 2008, Mr. Halver has been employed by Baader Bank AG in Frankfurt. As Head of Capital Market Analysis, he is responsible for assessing the international financial markets and is the face of the bank in its public relations.
Robert Halver has many years of media experience in television and radio stations and is well-known in specialist publications and as a columnist. He is known for his strong opinions and clear words.

Henrik Marx, Global Head of Trading | Heraeus Precious Metals

Henrik Marx is heading global precious metals trading at Heraeus with four sites in Germany, New York, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He has been working with Heraeus and in the precious metals industry for over 18 years. He went through various roles starting in Recycling through Sales and Business Development. From 2015 to 2018 he was heading the Heraeus business in Hong Kong as the General Manager, followed by two years in Switzerland at Argor-Heraeus being in charge for the investment products department as Director of Sales. Since June 2020 he is the CEO of Heraeus Metals Germany overlooking the global trading activities for Heraeus.
